Trace Lab · Support
Let’s get you back to the trace.
Most issues are fixed by reconnecting once, reopening the app, or checking the browser where you started practicing. If that does not work, Thoughtstage LLC is here to help.
01 · Install
Install Trace Lab on Windows
- Open Trace Lab while you are connected to the internet.
- In Microsoft Edge, select the install icon in the address bar. You can also open the browser menu, choose Apps, then choose Install Trace Lab.
- Launch Trace Lab from the Start menu like any other app.
No install option? Refresh the page while online and confirm you are using the current version of Microsoft Edge. You can always keep practicing in the browser without installing.
02 · Offline
Practice without a connection
Open Trace Lab successfully at least once while online. The app saves the interface and core practice experience so you can return when your connection is weak or missing.
- Reconnect to the internet.
- Open Trace Lab and allow the home screen to finish loading.
- Close and reopen the installed app before going offline.
Practice completed offline waits on this device and syncs after Trace Lab is open with a connection again.
03 · Progress
Find missing practice progress
Trace Lab does not use accounts. Progress is connected to an anonymous identifier in the browser where you practiced, so a different browser, browser profile, or device has a separate practice history.
- Return to the same browser and browser profile.
- Reconnect, open Trace Lab, and leave it open briefly to sync.
- Avoid clearing Trace Lab cookies or site data if you want to preserve the connection to that browser’s synced record.
If that anonymous cookie was cleared, Trace Lab cannot reconnect the new browser profile to its earlier anonymous record.
